Death Note Manga to Be Adapted Into a Musical

Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's popular manga property Death Note is being adapted into a stage musical, and is slated for a run in Japan and South Korea in 2015, via Tokyo Nissay Theatre and Seoul's LG Art Center, respectively.

American composer Frank Wildhorn, who previously wrote the music for the Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, Carmen, Wonderland, and The Count of Monte Cristo musicals, and has also composed songs for artists such as Natalie Cole and the late Whitney Houston, is handling the score. The script is being written by Ivan Menchell, while Tamiya Kuriyama is set to direct. There are no details regarding the cast yet.
